aux-rec is being launched by airdrop records as an offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute. aux-rec surveys musical history looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way. at airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! we feel aux-rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music.
the existing airdrop roster of artists will be invited to contribute to aux-rec, but different artists will also be uncovered specifically for this project. off to a fresh start, franco cinelli and club rayo (a duo composed by rafael sorol and pablo terreil) engrave their long-time friendship on this record. franco cinellis first productions were released on the duos imprint club rayo disquets at the beginning of the millenium. the club rayo collective has been extremely active in the local argentinean scene for more than twelve years now.
going back to one of music historys greatest classics, >fever<, franco cinelli and club rayo bring their own interpretations to a theme that has known as many versions than people taking a sing at it in the shower! using ella fitzgeralds and elvis presleys voices, club rayo create repsectively the fitzgerald mix - a rocking dancefloor jam looping ellas fantastic voice bringing it to a culmination - and the king dub - a 118 bpm groove punctuated by elvis low-pitched and resonant tone. cuerdas is a short guitar instrumantal rendition of the fever theme. on his remix, franco cinelli creates a 10 minutes drum symphony, especially designed for the post-climatic hours. both producers kept in mind ellas famous quote when undertaking this great enterprise: >i stole everything i ever heard, but mostly i stole from the horns.<

moleculez returns to meta4 ready to clear dancefloors with some of his most destructive material to date. you know you are dealing with some serious dance music when none of the tracks on a release have vocal samples. the opening track, future in progress, is blessed with a wonderfully deep kickdrum that would probably even sound good at plus20, although we havent tried that yet. out of a nowhere the track suddenly seems to have stopped when an eerie melody creeps out of the dark. this sets the tone for the rest of the release: dark, driving and threatening. gargoyle is the most driving. lava bomb the eeriest: and future in progress the most threatening. thats what we think, anyway. you decide. the last two tracks on this release are probotector and the haunted. the first is actual textbook honest to goodness industrial hardcore while the latter isnt really anything we can talk about here. highly recommended because we want to sell records

demetrio giannice is an italian swiss living in zurich & very active in the underground house scene. he recently released on his own enterbt records label (enterbt means disinherited in german), and soon to be released on drumpoet. third ear recordings have had this ep for more than a year. we ve been itching to get these deep house jams out there ever since we got them, and now here they are.

legendary sub club resident harri, teams up with fellow glaswegians and justifiably hyped producers the revenge to cook up this stripped back and relentless raw house joint. already a massive cut for a select few djs serviced well upfront, this track has cropped up on more than a few most wanted lists. its thundering main hook driven along with fierce percussion and a simmering tension that seems set to boil over never fails. the dub mix swaps the ferocious claps for a haunting bell tone, paving the way for a tripped out excursion 20.000 leagues under. vera completes the 12inch with her hypnotising tribal groove punctuated with rising synths that offers a lighter, brighter take on the original.

arnaud e mathieu is a well known figure of the parisian french house scene, hes a great dj and can play anything between deep house & techno. arno also runs his well respected label clima. i really enjoyed playing his recent release lamb of sun, on real tone. his past releases received support from great djs such as joe clausell or danny krivit. arno recently played me some of his productions demos and i really liked soil, he then did a great job in finishing it up and making it a dope club track! when playing this track to argy he really liked it and added his magic touch on final eqing! i hope you will enjoy this release as much as we do here on drh! dj deep

gogo music starts the year with another dope and deep release. continuing the liaison with south africa and katsaitis music we present blackcoffee feat. bucie and their title ‘,turn me on’,. blackcoffee is one of south africa s most respected house music artists and no stranger to gogo music as he belongs to the group shana, which already stormed the charts with our last release ‘,uyangichomela’,. as a dj blackcoffee played in all south african top clubs and scooped a sama award (south african dance music award) for best dance album in 2006. to date his fame is by far not bordered to south africa anymore, as he was for example chosen in 2006 and in 2007 to represent south africa at the red bull academy in barcelona, played numerous gigs in europe and released on real tone records.
